We love... Peep heeled boots

Yes the sun is out, but we're taking no chances. We're hanging on to our ankle boots...but with an extra twist. The 'peep-heeled'* bootee is perfect for those who want a bit of sun on their feet - but still want the security of coverage (hey, don't laugh, you know what London weather is like). Even Gwyneth knows where we're coming from, she was spotted in hers on the red carpet at the Iron Man 2 premiere. Tip: Make sure your heels are de-scaled and moisturised - hooves ain't chic.

Here are some of our favourites.

All Aliced Out? Not Quite...

Has there ever been a bigger merchandiser's dream than Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland? We think not. But Alice fatigue hasn't quite kicked in for us yet. We're lusting after Paul & Joe's whimsical Alice beauty merch spotted at ASOS.com.

This £25 handbag kit contains blotting paper and a lip treatment stick in the cutest little tin. Sweet and chic...

Gift guide #3: Bourjois' Little Round Pots Trio

It's Dec 1st which officially marks the party season, otherwise known as 'smoky eye season'. It's the most oft-asked question to beauty editors and make-up artists - 'how do I create a smoky eye?' (No, getting someone to blow fag fumes in your face is not the answer.)

To help things along, Bourjois has produced the sweetest little trio of eyeshadows in their own individual pots, complete with oh-so-simple 3-step instructions. Get one of these and you'll be the one giving out smoky-eye advice.

Approx £15, Available from House of Fraser, ASOS and HQ Hair

Let's hear it for the boys

It seems that these days you can put 'boyfriend' in front of anything and you have a whole new trend to play with. Fun times!

Boyfriend tee
Pioneered by Alexander Wang, you can either pay luxe prices or just upsize to a Large from American Apparel and bung in a couple of shoulder pads (or not). Wear with a short skirt, opaque tights and lace-up shoe-boots

Boyfriend jacket
These have been knocking about for a few seasons thanks to Stella McCartney and her cool tailored blazers. How to wear now? Over the shoulders as seen at the Celine pre-collections and on Alexa Chung at London Fashion Week

Boyfriend jeans
No explanation required but we love this look with a tucked-in blouse and high-heeled ankle-boots

Boyfriend shoes
Brogues are really hitting their stride now and strike the right boy-girl note with mini-dresses and woolly tights or skinny cropped-at-the-ankle jeans and a polka-dot sweater.

Boyfriend scarf
No, not his nasty acrylic football scarf but one of those silky polka-dot or paisley scarves with fringing to wear over a denim jacket or chunky sweater-dress. We like Tootals scarves - find vintage ones on Vintage-revived.com

Boyfriend watch
A nice chunky watch - new or vintage - worn baggy with a three-quarter-sleeve blouse or shrunken schoolboy jacket.

Shoulder chic

Back in May, we reported on Graziadaily.co.uk on the rise in sales of shoulder pads and the shoulder pad frenzy that was taking over every high street brand from Topshop to Tammy.

Now, pics are in of the new ASOS collection and we're planning on shamelessly pinching their ideas taking a styling tip or two from them. Take one freshly-ironed loose white tee, a pair of £1.99 shoulder pads and a statement necklace, roll up those sleeves, tuck in the tee and voila, a so-right-now look with minimal effort. Alternatively, just buy the look readymade from ASOS.com when it lands mid-August.

ASOS Ltd 100

The ASOS Ltd 100 is nearly upon us for the third year running and we were invited to the launch party on Thursday to view the talent on offer. 100 students from London College of Fashion have had their work selected by an expert panel to be included in the exclusive sale. Our favourite designer was Rie Bromley who has three of her leather and bead necklaces in the sale which goes live on ASOS.com on 3rd July. If you fancy one of these, make-sure you cancel all plans for July 3rd. You need to be super-speedy on the mouse as last year, every item was sold in two minutes flat. The good news is that some of the pieces are very reasonable indeed, each is a one-off and all the profits go to the designers.

See by Chloe

These See By Chloe workboots seemed to follow us round to all the press days, from Harvey Nichols to ASOS to Urban Outfitters. People, they are going to be everywhere!
If you want to get the look without rocking the same boots as everyone else, we suggest these similar ones also at Urban Outfitters. They're not in store yet but they will be soon...
